The Village of Cairo and the Cairo Community Foundation developed a committee to evaluate the possibility of creating a library. Committee members: Dana Lemburg, Brook Sautter, Kate Bohling, and Charity Adams met to discuss the possibilities. Dana Lemburg volunteered to donate her collection of children’s books which could be up to 700 books. The committee agreed that the donation would provide a great start to the inventory. The committee discussed several locations to initially house the library and plan to evaluate the feasibility prior to the next meeting. The committee plans to meet with area librarians and their boards to discuss library management structure, funding resources, and pitfalls to creating a library in Cairo. The library committee is dedicated and excited about the possibilities a library will offer the members of the community. If you have interest in participating on the committee please contact a current committee member or leave a message at the Village office.
