Remember the Cairo CornStalk festival starts Friday June 22 in the evening with a road rally, Corn Queen Contest & “Destination Rock & Roll” Concert.
Then on Saturday have some pancakes in the morning with the American Legion at the Fire Hall at 7:00 am and have your car washed by the Centura Girls BB team. Quilt Show & Roots Museum open at 9:00 along with coffee and rolls at the Senior Center then head downtown for the parade at 10:00 am with our Grand Marshall Verne Hickok. After the parade there will be games, turtle races, free swimming, free watermelon & lemonade,and the Boy Scout dunk tank at the pool park. Along with food from the Cairo Ball Association, SYDS Foundation, root beer floats from SYF, snow cones & cotton candy from New Hope Christian school all for sale. We will also have a slice of pie in the afternoon for $1 from the pie baking contest!! Car show and golf scramble start at 1:00 pm. Pitch tournament and Bingo at the Senior Center. Then at 4:00 pm down town there will be Hip Hop classes! 5:30 pm Fireman water fights downtown along with free Hamburgers and Hot Dogs provided by SonLight Bible Fellowship church. End the evening with the street dance featuring “Borderline” from 8 pm-midnight!
