Village of Cairo received approval from Progressive Agriculture Foundation to plan Progressive Agriculture Safety Day 2016 after the successful completion of the event in 2015. Nearly 100 children and 30 volunteers attended the event in 2015. Using the guidelines provided by Progressive Agriculture Foundation children were provided education on the importance of food safety, PTO safety, water safety, bicycle safety, animal safety, germ safety, and many more topics. The event is being planned for summer 2016 at the Cairo Community Center. Area youth ages kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to attend this event. Event details will be posted http://CairoCommunity.com.

“We are thrilled to have donors like Farm Credit Services of America who are committed to educating youth and strong supporters of farming in our communities,” said Charity Adams, Community Development Director for the Village of Cairo. “Farm Credit Services of America is making an impact on the safety of our children by supporting this program.”

Plans for Progressive Agriculture Safety Day 2016 are in process. With the funds provided by Farm Credit Services the event will have the capacity to impact even more children. The funding will also be useful in constructing more interesting educational tools and programs.
