Thursday, September 4th marked the beginning of the Centura Cross Country Team’s season with their opening race at the Gibbon Golf Course. The team had a great day for weather compared to their training weeks which may have helped with the great day they had performing. Sophomore Tanner Rosenquist started off the day in the high school boys race with a strong first performance in Cross Country. Tanner held a strong pace to earn a 5th place medal finish. Next up was the girls race with freshman Abby Hadenfeldt with a great opening performance earning herself a 9th place medal. Finally came the junior high race with Centura’s four boys running in a tight pack all with finishes in the top twenty to earn themselves ribbons. Charlie Selden led the charge with a 5th place finish, followed by Nate Ruhl at 11th, Casey Kuszak 12th, and Travis Harris 16th. Next up for the Centurion runners will be their home meet on September 11th at Centura Hills.
